PhD Program
The Specialized PhD in Neuroscience requires a total of 12.5/13 ECTS for UniBE students and 11 ECTS for UniFR students. The attendance to the BENEFRI workshop (three times), the Hands-on Workshop (once), Neuroscience lecture series (at UniBE) are mandatory. For the UniBE students, attendance of the GCB courses indicated below is also mandatory (additional 1.5-2 ECTS). Further additional ECTS can be obtained through optional lectures, courses, journal clubs, acquired techniques, etc. (see below) that must be outlined together with the thesis supervisor to provide a customized curriculum for each student.

Scientific integrity (GCB), Scientific writing (GCB, GHS), BENEFRI Neuroscience Workshop, BENEFRI Hands-On workshops, Neuroscience Lecture Series (NLS)
***Students are required to consult their respective school (GCB or GHS) to ensure that all ECTS requirements are fulfilled.
Optional:
Courses, lectures, soft skills improvement, journal clubs, experimental techniques or conferences. UniFR students do not need to take optional courses.
